'No violation, we have not asked for votes': Karnataka deputy CM DK Shivakumar on EC notice over Telangana advertisements
Karnataka government has said that it has not violated any rules by issuing advertisements in poll-bound Telangana. Karnataka deputy CM DK Shivakumar justified the advertisements and said they only mention welfare measures of the government and was needed to counter claims by opposition parties that Karnataka did not implement the promised guarantee schemes. The EC had sought a response from the Karnataka government after the BJP and BRS had complained that the Karnataka govt had violated Model Code of Conduct by publishing ads in Telangana newspapers.
