Hospitals cannot admit critically ill patients in ICU if they or kin refuse: Govt guidelines

The Union health ministry has issued guidelines stating that hospitals cannot admit critically ill patients to the ICU if they refuse. Patients with a living will or advanced directive against ICU care should not be admitted. In pandemic or disaster situations with limited resources, low priority criteria should be considered.
